How copies are placed

  • Copy 1 stays on your device or server. You already have it.
  • Copy 2 goes to your home location. If your data must stay in India, that's Mumbai or Hyderabad.
  • Copy 3 goes to another continent, with a different provider from copy 2.

Keeping data inside India

Our Indian locations are Mumbai and Hyderabad, about 600 km apart. If your data must not leave India, we keep both cloud copies there, one in each city. Both are with the same provider today, so you get the city separation of 3-2-1 but not the provider separation. If your policy allows one copy abroad, we add a copy with a second provider on another continent.

Choosing a location

Locations are provisioned for your account when you pick them, so new locations don't add to your bill until you use them. Enterprises with a location we don't list can talk to us.
