Your clients' books are only as safe as your office server

A CA firm holds years of books, returns and working papers for dozens or hundreds of clients, usually on one office server or NAS. triplicate keeps two more copies, encrypted, with older versions you can go back to.

What you hold, and where it lives today

Usually one copy, in one place. That's the part we fix.

RecordsWhere they usually live
Client data files from accounting softwareThe office server or shared folder, one folder per client
ITR, GST and TDS filings with acknowledgementsArticle assistants' PCs and the shared drive
Audit working papers and signed reportsPartners' laptops and the file server
Client documents and correspondenceEmail, and WhatsApp forwards saved to download folders

How it actually gets lost

  • In the weeks before the ITR and audit deadlines everyone works on the shared folder at once. That's when a disk failure or an accidental overwrite hurts most.
  • One article assistant opens a fake notice attachment, and ransomware spreads across the shared drive and the USB backup disk that was left plugged in.
  • A client's data file is restored over the wrong year, or a folder is deleted during a clean-up. Without older versions, last month's state is gone.
  • Notices and scrutiny can arrive years after a return was filed. The working papers have to be found for that year, not just this one.

What we back up

You choose the folders and mailboxes. Copy one stays with you; copies two and three go to two storage providers you choose, one of them on another continent (Mumbai or Hyderabad if your data must stay in India).

Office server or NAS

Client folders every night, with versions kept so you can restore a single file as it was on a given day.

Staff PCs

The desktop agent picks up working folders on Windows PCs, so nothing lives only on one assistant's machine.

Firm mailboxes

Client correspondence and portal acknowledgements, copied every few hours.

Locked copies

Object lock keeps copies that can't be changed or deleted until the date you set, so ransomware can't encrypt them.

Let your clients share bills with you

Most of a CA firm's July is spent chasing papers over WhatsApp and email. With triplicate, clients put bills and proofs in a folder shared with you.

Every client in one list

Clients invite you by your email or phone; you see everyone who has shared with you, by financial year.

Filed by year and month

Scanned bills, Form 16, AIS, investment proofs and statements arrive already sorted, at full quality.

Send the return back

With the client's permission, add the filed return and acknowledgement to their folder, so both of you keep a copy.

Access the client controls

Clients see what you opened and can remove access any time, which makes it easier for them to say yes.

How sharing with your CA works

How it works

  1. 1

We set it up with you

A short call. We pick the computers, phones and mailboxes that matter and set up the agent or app together.

  2. 2

    It runs on its own

New and changed files are encrypted and copied every night; email every few hours. Nobody has to remember.

  3. 3

    Restore when you need to

Dead disk, deleted folder or ransomware: download yesterday's files, or last month's, from any computer.

Which plan

Business, prepaid, minimum ₹200 a month

Firms with many clients usually store more than one PC's worth. Larger firms with branches can ask about an annual Enterprise commitment. You pay for the storage you use at the rates of the two providers you choose, with a ₹200 monthly minimum.

Prepaid only: top up by UPI, card or net banking and we deduct each month. No auto-debit. Prices exclude 18% GST. How pricing works.

Get a call back

Leave a phone number or email and we'll call to understand your setup, usually within one working day. triplicate is in early access: we're setting up a small number of businesses by hand first.
