Moving house? Back up before the boxes
A move puts your laptop in a truck, your papers in unlabelled cartons and your phone in your pocket through two days of chaos. It's when things get lost, and when you need every address paper at once.
What you have, and where it lives
Usually one copy, in one place. That's the part we fix.
| What | Where it usually is |
|---|---|
| Rent agreement, deposit receipt and move-out inspection photos | Your phone and an email from the owner |
| ID and address proofs for the new connection, school or bank | A cupboard that's now packed |
| Photos and files on the home computer | The computer going in the truck |
| Packers' inventory and insurance | Paper from the moving company |
| Bills for the final electricity, gas and internet settlement | SMS and email |
How it usually gets lost
- The carton with the important papers is packed early and opened last, or not at all.
- The desktop computer is damaged in transit, with the only copy of years of photos on it.
- The deposit is disputed and the photos of the flat's condition on moving out are on a phone that's since been reset.
- The new gas, internet and school admission all ask for address proof the same week.
What we back up
You choose what goes up. Copy one stays on your phone or laptop; copies two and three go to two storage providers you choose, one of them on another continent (Mumbai or Hyderabad if your data must stay in India).
Before you pack
Let the computer back up fully before it's unplugged. Then a damaged disk is only an inconvenience.
Papers you'll need
Scan ID, address proofs and the rent agreement into a folder on your phone you've chosen to back up.
Move-out photos
Photos of the old flat's condition are backed up with the rest of your phone.
Sharing
Send an address proof to a new landlord or school with a link that expires.
Good habits, with or without us
- Carry the original important papers yourself. Don't put them in the truck.
- Photograph each room on moving in and moving out. They back up with the rest of your photos.
- Keep the packers' inventory list and insurance papers until everything is unpacked and checked.
- Print the recovery kit you get at setup and keep it with your other important papers. Your files are encrypted on your phone before upload and we can't reset your passphrase, so the kit is how you get back in.
How it works
- 1
Pick what matters
When the app launches, install it on your iPhone or Android phone and choose: photos, the folders you want, contacts, your mailbox. Nothing else leaves your phone.
- 2
It runs on its own
New photos and files are encrypted and copied in the background; email every few hours. Nobody has to remember.
- 3
Get it back
New phone, deleted file or lost laptop: restore everything, or bring back one document from version history.
What it costs
Prepaid, minimum ₹200 a month
You pay for the storage you use at the rates of the two providers you choose, with a ₹200 monthly minimum. Top up by UPI, card or net banking. No auto-debit, no card on file. Prices exclude 18% GST. How pricing works.
